JURY MEMBERS FOR THE BARCELONA BUILDING CONSTRUMAT AWARDS 2017 ARE ANNOUNCED
The Mies van der Rohe Foundation, curator of the seventeenth edition of the Barcelona Building Construmat Awards, has the honour of announcing the members of the jury of the Award that the International Fair of Construction of Barcelona bestows. It reminds you that works built during 2016 are eligible, and that entry is free.
The verdict of the 17th edition of the awards will be given by five professionals of recognised careers and leaders from the various categories of the award:
* Constructed project, in the categories of ‘Architecture’ and ‘Infrastructures’
* Innovative project and/or service
* Innovative product and/or material
* Stand at Barcelona Building Construmat 2017
The Barcelona Building Construmat Awards 2017 were announced the 21st of February 2017 and would like to give valued to the works and proposals that generate an added value to the construction sector.
In the Constructed Projects section, any work of architecture, urbanism or civil engineering finished between January 1st 2015 and December 31st 2016, and promoted, designed directed or executed in any country by an agent from Spain, Portugal and Andorra, may participate.
And all businesses and institutions registered for the Fair are called to the Innovative project and/or service, Innovative product and/or material and Stand categories.
The members of the jury for this edition are:
Cristina Pardal, chair of the jury; doctorate in architecture by the UPC. Professor and member of different research groups of the Department of Architectural Constructions of the UPC.
Andrea Deplazes, architect and co-director of the Bearth & Deplazes architecture firm (Chur, Switzerland). Head of the Deplazes department in the ETH Zurich, where he has undertaken various research projects related to the technological field applied to architecture.
Javier Peña, head of the studio Javier Peña Ibáñez. Model emerging designer of exhibitions and ephemeral spaces.
Rosa Vilarasau: Economist specialised in marketing, co-director and founder of the sustainable construction business NOEM.
Jordi Julià, civil engineer. Currently the director of Transfer Engineering S.A. and member of the governing board of the College of Civil Engineers.
The prize-granting ceremony will be held Wednesday May 24, within Barcelona Building Construmat, which will be hosted between the 23 and 26 of May in Pavilion 2 of the Gran Via Fira de Barcelona.
BBConstrumat - Barcelona Building Construmat brings together the present and the future of the sector. The event is structured into 4 Arenas: Industry, Future, Talks and Meetings.
